Gavin and Hazel were married with us in August 2022, with a beautiful garden ceremony followed by a formal reception and evening party.

Hazel says, “We wanted a rustic feel and what we loved about the function room was the fact it would lend itself to any style of theme.  It’s a gorgeous room and the views are stunning.  The whole day felt very relaxed, informal and intimate.  We loved the layout as it meant everyone was always together.”

After a sit down wedding breakfast, the group partied the night away, flowing between the function room  and the inner courtyard where they opted for an evening BBQ.

“I can’t even count how many compliments we got on the amazing food and the team made sure everyone was served super fast so we were all eating together.  The party was epic!  After being let down by our band, we weren’t sure about a disco but it’s honestly the best thing that happened.  The in-house DJ created an incredible atmosphere, the dance floor was full all night and we loved that people could spill outside to the courtyard, enjoy the sunset and get some air.”

The couple say meeting the team made the venue decision easy.  “When we met the staff, all our worries just melted away – they really really know weddings.  Despite my scouring every wedding magazine on the market for ideas to make our day stand out, they still came up with some great things we hadn’t even considered to make our wedding extra special.  Whenever I worried about how to get it all done, the answer was always a very willing and calm, ‘we will do that….’”

Hazel & Gavin’s wedding highlights

• Our wedding breakfast ice breakers made people compete to become the winner of each table.  Our guests had great fun and it brought lots of laughter and a few competitive streaks came to the fore!
• We surprised our guests with a dance routine – no one expected it and the hotel helped us keep it a secret, even letting us have a rehearsal in the function room
• We were too tired for the sunset photoshoot so the photographer took our guests onto the lawn and we had some of the most stunning photos from that shoot. The light and the views from the hotel were a fabulous backdrop.
