In its heyday, the Lord Haldon had a name for hosting wonderful parties as one of the finest country mansions of its time.
Although now much smaller than the original Georgian mansion, our hotel retains a cosy country house feel, offering 23 rooms and exclusive occupancy for our wedding couples and their guests.
We have no fewer than three rooms suitable for a bridal suite, allowing you to choose your personal preference for your stay.
All rooms have beautiful views, are spacious and filled with natural light, and have large, luxurious bathrooms. As a bonus, they also look down on our outside ceremony space and reception – perfect for subtly spying on arriving guests.
Some couples choose the warmth of traditional pine in one room, whilst others prefer the cool contemporary neutrals of another. One of our bridal suites is dual aspect, whilst the another offers more privacy, situated on the second floor.
The rest of our rooms are similarly fresh, bright and spacious, all with tea and coffee making facilities, modern bathrooms and great views.
A wedding feels very special with exclusive use of a historic old building like ours. Feel like you have your own country estate for the weekend, and welcome your nearest and dearest with plenty of space to kick back, relax and make memories.
If you simply don’t need all the rooms, you can choose to just book the entertaining space, and guests can make their own decisions over whether to stay or not.
The Lord Haldon feels rural, with unbroken views of rolling green hills to the sea. Despite our countryside location, we are actually just ten minutes from the cathedral city of Exeter, making transport to our venue very simple.
We have parking for up to 100 cars, can provide additional meals either side of the wedding itself, and are close to numerous other bed and breakfasts, small hotels and AirBnBs to accommodate the rest of your guests.
